Rambert: A Linha Curva
At Sadler's Wells
Winner of the 2010 Laurence Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance, Rambert Dance Company is Britain's national company for contemporary dance.
This triple bill includes a brand new work by UK choreographer Aletta Collins. Inspired by Dr Oliver Sacks' book, made famous by the 1990 Hollywood film, Awakenings is the first dance interpretation of these remarkable stories. This energetic and emotional work features a specially-commissioned score, both passionate and lyrical, by celebrated American composer Tobias Picker.
Rambert also presents the return of the popular and critically acclaimed Hush, winner of the Critics' Circle National Dance Award 2009 for Best Choreography, by icon of British choreography Christopher Bruce.
For the third work, German choreographer Henrietta Horn, previously Co-Artistic Director (with Pina Bausch) at the Folkwang Tanzstudio, makes her Rambert choreographic debut with Cardoon Club.
Awakenings and Cardoon Club contain live music played by the Rambert Orchestra.
