A notebook that can change the fate of the world. A brilliant mind determined to use it. And a detective who will stop at nothing to uncover the truth.

Death Note: The Musical makes its electrifying London debut

When gifted student Light Yagami discovers a mysterious notebook with a terrifying power — anyone whose name is written inside will die — he decides to use it to rid the world of criminals and create a new era of justice. But absolute power comes at a price.

As criminals begin dying across the globe, the enigmatic and highly intelligent detective L launches an investigation. What follows is an intense battle of intellect, strategy and morality as two brilliant minds collide.

What begins as a mission for justice slowly becomes a dangerous obsession, forcing both men to question their ideals, their limits and the true meaning of righteousness.

Based on the internationally acclaimed manga by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, which has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide, Death Note: The Musical transforms the iconic story into a gripping theatrical experience.

Featuring a powerful and cinematic score by Frank Wildhorn — the Grammy and Tony Award nominated composer behind numerous global hits — and written by Emmy nominee Ivan Menchell (Bonnie & Clyde), this spectacular musical delivers drama, suspense and unforgettable music.

Dark, thrilling and thought-provoking, Death Note: The Musical is a must-see event for theatre lovers, anime fans and anyone who enjoys a gripping story that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Death Note the Musical- Broadway worthy

"This musical is amazing! The performances by the actors where jaw-dropping and the songs where the best I’ve ever heard come from a musical. In a musical there are typically 2-4 show-stopper musical numbers but in Death Note the musical, almost every other song is a show stopper. Every actor portrays the character with incredible depth and realness. This is without even mentioning the powerful voices they have. The singing was beautiful. The choreography was very creative and dynamic making every song stand out because of it. The musical was very well adapted from the original book series that so you could watch it without having any knowledge of the source material and still fall in love with it. The plot is a well-paced, easy to follow masterpiece that talks about powerful themes while still not being overly edgy or taking itself too seriously. There is something to love about every character as they are made so likeable. You are engaged in every moment of the musical from start to finish and when you leave the theatre, the experience will stay with you. All-in-all, I loved the musical. It had a strong story, great songs and wonderful performances. Its definitely due a deserved album for streaming. I would recommend this to all musical lovers."

Barbican theatre

"Death Note på Barbican theatre var över förväntan bra! Vi satt på yttre platserna på "Circle". Högt upp med bra utsikt ner på scenen."

Humor och allvar

"Äntligen kunde jag förstå vilka karaktärer i Death Note som barnet och hennes kompis pratar om. Barnet 12 år tyckte också att musikalen var bra. Den kunde ha fått varit längre! "
