& Juliet is based on Shakespeare's play Romeo & Juliet but focuses on a specific question regarding the end of the play: What would have happened, if Romeo died, but Juliet didn't? This plot twist puts Juliet in an entirely different situation. In this modern musical Juliet travels to Paris to rebuild her life after the loss of Romeo.  

The musical features hit pop songs written by the Swedish record producer and songwriter Max Martin. Martin has worked with numerous famous singers and performers, including Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Céline Dion, Ariana Grande and Katy Perry. Twenty-two of the songs that Martin has worked on have reached number 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. Martin has also won many awards for his songwriting skills.

Martin's songs make Juliet's new opportunities come to life. The musical also inspires new questions: Was Juliet’s famous ending really just her new beginning?
